Tiger Woods delivered one of the most dazzling efforts of his career in the U.S. Open, winning an epic battle with Rocco Mediate. It wasn't fully disclosed until after the event, but Woods had been playing with a torn knee ligament for 10 months, then suffered a stress fracture in his left leg.
